Gabrielle union dating history
Gabrielle Union was born on October 29, 1972, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Theresa (Glass), who managed a phone company, and Sylvester E. When she was eight, her family moved to Pleasanton, California, where she grew up and attended high school. The black community in Hollywood is very small and close-knit. You can't have a crazy diva walking around saying, "As long as I'm lit well..." or, "I only care if I do well." As women we're taught early on to be polite, to be nice, to not make anyone uncomfortable.
There, Union was an all-star point guard and a year-round athlete participating in soccer, basketball, and track. Everyone has a common goal: to make a two-hour movie in 30 days. But I always remember this great line from a movie: "All we have..all these years." We can fill those years with toxic, negative people or with fun, positive people.
When it stops being fun, I'll try something else.
In 1981 her father was transferred, and the family moved to Pleasanton, a predominantly white suburban neighborhood in northern California.
Union's mother made sure her daughters received an education in black culture and history, but Union still longed to have the companionship of other black girls.
She told Savoy magazine, in an article that appeared on the Gabrielle Union Fan Club Web site, "I wanted the camaraderie.
During her high school years Union was a talented, hard-working athlete, excelling at soccer, track, and basketball.
She also performed well in the classroom, making the dean's list at Foothill High in Pleasanton.
