Volunteer  programmes

There  is  a  lot  of  work  in  ecovillage  Big  Stone  for  different  people  (men  and  women,  adults  and  children,  strong  and  week).  If  you  want  to  become  a  volunteer,  you  should  agree  with  the  Written  Rules  and  the  Meaning  of  Solar  Festivals.  Then  you  should  contact  one  of  our  leaders  and  choose  the  activity.  You  may:

-  build  houses  for  participants  of  festivals

-  prepare  firewoods

-  fix  and  prepare  instruments  and  inventory

-  make  vegetable  gardens  and  gardens  on  the  territory  of  Solar  Festivals

-  make  a  design  of  the  landscape  of  festivals

-  gathered  and  prepare  wild  herbs  for  food 

-  write  and  translate  informational  texts  and  prepare  the  virtual  territory  of  the  festivals.

Volunteers  pay  for  round  trip  to  the  Big  Stone.  We  give  volunteers  instruments,  special  clothes  for  the  work,  food  and  place  to  stay.

Festivals

We  invite  you  to  participate  in  our  festivals.  You  should  discuss  the  details  of  your  visit  with  one  of  our  leaders.  The  leader  will  help  you  to  solve  any  problem  you  may  face  during  your  visit  to  Big  Stone.  Don't  leave  any  garbage  at  the  territory  of  the  Festival.  You  can  take  out  from  the  territory  those  things  which  can  be  renewed  by  nature  (if  the  keepers  of  the  territory  agree  with  it).  Look  after  yourself  and  take  care  of  the  words  you  say.  Leave  a  good  memory  about  you!

We  made  a  list  of  ecological  and  ethnocultural  rules  which  you  should  follow  during  our  Festivals. 

-  Do  not  take  any  stones  near  Big  Stone

-  Do  not  leave  any  garbage

-  Do  not  leave  an  unfinished  work  for  the  territory  keepers

-  Do  not  bring  tobacco,  alcohol,  meet  products,  pyrotechnics,  fishing  tackle  and  hunting  guns 

-  Do  not  undress  in  front  of  children  of  the  other  sex

-  Do  not  teach  native  inhabitants  how  to  live  even  if  their  way  of  life  is  incorrect  according  your  understanding

-  Do  not  discuss  or  criticize  the  other  participants  of  the  Festival,  solve  all  the  problems  together  with  the  leader  confidentiality.

-  Do  not  use  foul  language

-  Do  not  take  pictures  and  do  not  make  video  without  the  permission  of  the  participants.  Parents  give  the  permissions  for  children.

Inhabitants  of  Big  Stone  are  those  who  have  an  ecological  mind  and  ecological  behavior.  That  means  that  every  time  there  is  a  choice  you  choose  the  most  ecological  action.  Nowadays  those  who  want  to  live  in  an  ecovillage  have  a  chance  to  become  an  inhabitant  of  Big  Stone.  If  you  want  to  do  so  we  offer  to  become  a  member  of  our  volunteer  program  and  seasonal  Solar  Festivals.  You  should  express  your  agreement  with  the  ideas  and  rules  of  our  ecovillage  and  get  a  public  agreement  from  inhabitants  of  Big  Stone.  Then  you  should  become  a  participant  of  volunteer  program  and  Solar  Festivals  of  Big  Stone  at  least  once  a  year.  The  Big  Stone  ecovillage  represents  a  trial  of  a  new  conception  of  ecovillage,  a  kind  of  a  transitional  step  from  the  city  life  to  the  country  life.  There  are  one  family  of  permanent  residents  there,  and  about  20  people  of  'seasonal  residents  who  love  country  life,  share  environmental  ideas,  and  regularly  take  part  in  the  Big  Stone’s  programs/seminars.
